Beauty Tips: Love Your Lips and Make Them Stand Out
When it comes to creating a truly glamorous makeup look, nothing says it better than hot red lips! Here are some tips on how to create this sexy seductive makeup look with ease and minimal effort.
1. Make sure you have smooth lips to before you start. You can achieve this by dry brushing them gently with your toothbrush which will help to remove any dry skin from them. As always, after exfoliating make sure you moisturise your lips. Once weekly should be more than sufficient.
Make sure you drink lots of water as the lips are the first part to show the signs of dehydration. By drinking water throughout the day it will ensure that your lips don't look dry, rough, peeling or chapped. Therefore, every time you feel your lips getting dry, drink some water. Not only will it moisten them instantly it also helps make the skin plumper, reducing the appearance of fine lines and gives a natural glow to your face leaving it with a fresh, healthy and picture perfect look.
There are many different products on the market which claim to plump your lips. Besides drinking plenty of water patting your lips with moisturiser before applying your lipstick will also plump them up. With two fingers gently tap your upper and lower lips for a count of approximately 200 and you should notice a slight difference. Alternatively - for the daring girls out there, you can dab a bit of tabasco sauce on them, this works by irritating the soft skin and plumping them up just like the over the counter lip plumpers you buy from the shops! Obviously be careful and make sure you don't get any in your eyes!
2. Now your lips are ready to be made up, start by lightly dusting them with foundation to dry up any excess oils from them. Start by outlining the lips with a nice deep red, I love Rimmels - Indian pink which is a rich pink, bordering on red. To be honest sometimes I also will fill in the lip lightly with the same pencil and blend it with a moisturising lip balm to lighten it. Otherwise for an all night lipstick, apply your lipstick to lips after lining them then blot with tissue, you can then lightly brush with powder foundation and apply one more coat of lipstick to truly lock in the colour.
